The proposed Lighthouse Project can only help to boost not only the image of Long Island but the economy as well. This facility will provide yet another point of attraction specifically for Nassau County and for Long Island in general. With all the amenities associated with the site, including Hotel, Conference Center, and shopping, the revenue and employment generated should provide the incentive to create even more positive aspects of the area. Lastly, but certainly not least, the Coliseum sports arena will offer a state-of-the-art venue not only for the Islanders but for other attractions; not only sporting events but concerts and conventions as well. The potential benefits are almost unlimited.

The Lighthouse Project will change the Hempstead/Uniondale area for the better! The benefits far outweigh anything critics, who are afraid of change, have to say. Between Roosevelt Fields Mall, The Source Mall, Hofstra University, and The Lighthouse Project, the heart of Nassau County will be rejuvenated as never before. Not to mention make Hofstra an even more attractive University. The benefits to the entire area significantly outweigh whatever hypothetical negatives opponents of the plan create. I vote yes for the lighthouse and other development at the Nassau Coliseum. Aside from providing great economic benefits, greater employment opportunities, and much needed real estate, it is a desirable improvement to an aging building and will make the Nassau Coliseum a well-known venue for hockey in North America. All events held at the Coliseum would be considered quite a treat to anyone.

I think the lighthouse idea is great. It will help beautify Long Island as well as create more jobs. I love going to the coliseum but always feel it has the potential to be so much more and the lighthouse project reflects that.
